Pitch discrimination, musical preference, familiarity and context vary among people; complete experience also depends on loudness, timbre, rhythm, channels and equipment.
Current evidence cannot calculate a medically meaningful “best personal hertz” from birth details or one listening impression, or show that one popular number affects everyone identically.
The same frequency number does not mean the same timbre, loudness, rhythm, cultural familiarity or personal history. Difference is not a listening error; the question is larger than one number.

Say what “the same hertz” actually means
Values such as 432 Hz and 440 Hz usually identify the frequency of a tone or reference. What reaches the ear also includes level, spectrum, rhythm, channels, reverberation, distortion and playback equipment; pitch discrimination itself varies.[1]
Musical preference is never one line
Large studies show that preference is organised across several dimensions. Personality, cognitive style and cultural familiarity contribute, but do not lock a person into one answer.[2][3][4]
- Is the timbre familiar?
- Does the rhythm fit the present state?
- Are level and headphones comfortable?
- What musical memories and cultural context are involved?
- What are the current task, setting and expectations?
Binaural-beat research does not show one uniform response
A 2023 systematic review of 14 EEG studies found opposite or mixed results and substantial differences in stimulation, duration, samples and analysis. It cannot be rewritten as “one beat works for everyone”.[5]
What honest personalisation can do
